Your Responsibilities

Essential Functions:
This list reflects the current job functions, but may evolve as needed. Management may modify tasks based on operational requirements, while adhering to legal obligations.

Technical Functions:

  • Service aircraft through mechanical work including dismantling, overhauling, and repairing components to maintain airworthiness.
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections.
  • Certify the quality of your own workmanship according to maintenance manuals.
  • Connect and remove ground power and start units.
  • Push out/tow aircraft and perform guideman functions.

General Work Conditions:

  • Perform inspections in various environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Maintain general safety awareness in areas with moving vehicles.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment as required.
  • Work in confined or awkward spaces.

General Functions:

  • Sign mechanical flight and airworthiness releases.
  • Maintain knowledge of manuals and maintenance protocols.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork accurately.
  • Conduct Foreign Object Debris (FOD) walks.
  • Keep your work area clean and organized.
  • Request necessary parts.

American Airlines Functions:

  • Report to your position on time, including varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Follow all safety procedures and policies.
  • Complete job-relevant training.
  • Adhere to government regulations and company policies.
  • Coordinate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Wear uniforms as required.
  • Utilize electronic systems for work tasks.

Your Path to Success

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Fluency in English or the local language.
  • Airframe and Power Plant License required.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Flexibility to work extra hours as needed.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Regular and timely attendance is essential.
  • Pass FAA criminal background checks for airport access.
  • Secure appropriate airport authority and/or US Customs security badges.
  • Subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing.
  • Travel to interviews and relocation expenses are the candidate's responsibility.
