Join our healthcare team as a dedicated Pathology Assistant for a 13-week travel position in Danville, PA. Under the supervision of a Pathologist, you will play a crucial role in the preparation and performance of human surgical-specimen dissections and postmortem examinations, contributing significantly to our commitment to excellence in patient care.

Job Details

• Location: Danville, PA
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 8-hour days, 5 shifts per week
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $3250-$3330

Job Requirements

• Master's Degree in a relevant field
• 2 years of experience in a similar healthcare role
• Certification from ASCP
• Proficiency in communication, computer literacy, and laboratory equipment operation

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and performance of human surgical specimen dissection and postmortem examinations
• Obtain and assess clinical information, history, and legal authorizations for autopsies
• Describe gross anatomic features and perform dissections of surgical specimens
• Prepare tissue sections for histologic processing and intraoperative procedures
• Triages biological samples for special procedures as directed by the Pathologist
• Photograph pertinent specimens
• Maintain equipment and cleanliness of the surgical pathology suite
• Assist in overseeing Surgical Pathology Techs and Pathology Resident Training
• Organize and coordinate Anatomic Pathology Conferences
